Origin

Akan grew up in an unloving house hold, both mother and father wanted nothing to do with him, let alone let him be apart of the Wraith house hold. Given the name "Akan" which means "One who troubles", unlike his siblings who all have honorable names, he was the unwanted child.

Being born to his mother's unfaithfulness, he was extremely unwanted to the point his mother prayed for herself to have the unborn child removed. He was born of two races, The Fae, which his family held the highest respects for Fae, and of an Angelic. A lower guard of Angelic and his mother and been meeting once a month for many moons. Once he found out she was carrying his child, he attacked her and nearly killed her. Coming home with near death wounds, her husband found out everything. Supporting his wife though the birth of the child after all their attempts to remove the child failed. Nothing left for them to do but be punished and raise a child that shouldnt have been born.

He was born of white hair and fair skin, his small horns and white skinny tail concluded his Fae genes and both parents thought they were blessed with him being a normal Fae child, despite the unnatural light hair. Though that was short lived as he displayed no use of magic at the age of two, which was only the start of their worries. at the age of 8 he had started to grow lumps under his skin on his back, the parents grew concerned he was sick, that was until small black feathers began to emerge from his skin. They kept him in doors and eventually after months of not letting him leave the house the feathers eventually sprouted into wings. Kaia and Tuea knew that their worst fears came to light, he was not of only Fae origin, he was also part Angelic, and they knew what needed to happen to keep their secret.

Holding down the small child, Tuea removed his wings, it looked more like a butcher's table when they were done, blood pooled around his small body as he shivered and cried asking why this was happening to him, his mother would cover his mouth as he screamed with each cut. After the bones down to the spine were completely removed the sloppily stitched his large open wounds on his back up. Tuea moved to the fireplace and tossed in his black child sized wings, Akan watched trembling in pain as they were turned to ash.

This is when the daily abuse started. His parents cared little to nothing for him now, he tried to ask what he did wrong to make them so mad and they would just tell him its because he was born, he should never have existed. He was a disgrace to the Wraith name, and he would never get a penny from them after they died. He was no longer allowed to go out and play with the other kids, or do anything his two siblings were allowed to do. He stayed home and read and learned, he learned many things while being locked up in the house all day. He learned about the Races, the angelics, and all the rules and laws of the black city Cier, and of the white cities.

He put two and two together after the age of 14 that he was born of both Angelic and Fae, he always still tried to live up to his parents expectations even though he would never be able too. He tried for many years up until recently when he stopped caring about almost everything.

Once he was slightly older, he was allowed to go outside again, though this didnt help him at all, all the other kids didnt like him as his siblings told him he wasnt a good kid and that he isnt normal. Bullied though his teen years he gave up on trying to make friends and even have any relationships. He is planning to get enough money to go to the grey city, once he has enough to afford a ride in, he said he wouldnt come back until he could prove his worth to his family.

The Sword

One of the few times he was let out of his home, he met a man, a tall dark man with white hair and fiery yellow eyes, and over his shoulder was a long sword with a red sheath. Akan was fasinated, he has never seen someone look so strong or even someone around here who didnt use magic, like him.

Watching the man, he caught eye contact, Akan panicked and said hello in a meek voice from misuse, the man's mouth turned into a grin as he took a few slow strides over to him and crouched down "Hey there, what's your name?" he asked, Akan's skin flushed as he was approched by someone who wasnt yelling at him "A-a-akan." he stammered out quickly then added "sir" the man laughed and ruffled Akan's white hair "Well its nice to meet you Akan, my name is Titan, and im here on strict business." The older man laughed quietly as he brought the sword inbetween the two of them "This sword's name is Aldin, and I'm looking for someone to take care of her while I'm gone, do you know anyone who might be willing to do that?"

Akan was stunned, was this man asking him to look after his sword? Akan pointed to himself and stuttered out "I- I could, if you dont have anyone too!" his eyes glittered as the man then let out another small laugh and removed the strap from around his shoulder "well, you sure look about as fit as i could hope for to take care of her, you'll keep her safe until i can come back for her eh?" he grinned at him, Akan put his hands around the sword, it was heavier than he thought as the man let go. "I- I will i promise!"

"Akan what are you doing?" his mother's harsh voice cut the moment in half, Akan flinched as he grasped the sword tight to turn and look at her "What do you think youre doing with that?" she snapped again, the man stepped infront of Akan "I asked him to do something for me, I am a member of the Guard, do you have a problem with this?" Titan's voice suddenly harsh and mean compared to how he was talking to Akan a moment ago. His mother looked stunned, she stood still for a moment before responding in a meek voice "No, I do not." she then turned her gaze to Akan "lets go home-" before she could finish Titan added "Aldin has a mind of her own, so dont try taking that from him, she chose him to watch her, no one else." Kaia's eyes narrowed at him, as if he was reading her mind. "very well." she snapped slightly "akan lets go."

Akan stood for a moment next to Titan and glance up at him, "I promise ill keep her safe." Titan grinned once again, his soft features returning "don't sweat it kid, im sure you will." placing a hand on his head again he turned and left.

That was the only time he ever saw Titan, he never returned.
