Roleplay--

The animal was over her; her arm wedged in its jaws to stop it from mauling her. Her blooded dripped down, splashing onto her face as she struggled to keep the beast off her. She struck the wolf in the underbelly with her free hand and knee, but it refused to release her.

It was then Akan appeared from the side, drenched in blood, screaming her name. He charged forward without hesitation, stabbing the animal in the side with his knife. The blow shook the beast and it recoiled off of her. Ceri took the opportunity to roll backwards and create some distance as it snapped back at Akan, barely missing him.

The Fae kicked her staff, which was conviniently where he was standing, over to her, which she used to get back on her feet. With its eyes locked on Akan, Ceri lunged forward jabbing at the animals face. The blow connected, forcing the animal back in pain for a moment. Her left arm burned fiercly as blood continued to fall from the wound, causing her to grit her teeth against the pain.

The wolf was in a frenzy as it had become outnumered, snapping violently, alternating between the pair of them. As the pattern became predictable, Ceri waited for the animal to charge Akan, then swung her staff down hard on the beasts back, disorientating it for a moment.

Akan roundhouse kicked the wolf in the jaw knocking the beast back further. She was ready to dive in and finish off the animal with him when Aldin commanded them to run. After a moments hesitation, the fae grabbed her by the wrist and began running, pulling her along behind him.

It was harder to run with him holding on to her but she did her best. She thought she would do a better job of following than he had when she led, but he didn't give her a chance to argue. It didn't take them long to reach the river from earlier that morning, where she dropped to her knees at the river's edge. Akan stated that they had given up for now, to which she simply nodded.

After a few moments to catch her breath, Ceri drank deeply, but no matter how much she drank, she couldn't seem to stop her throat from burning. It was than Akan began washing the blood from his face. Ceri looked down at her own arm, deep fang marks running down the length of her forearm. She lowered it into the river to try and clean it, but the wound was like fire, torching her skin now.

She let out a hiss in frustration as she was forced to oull her arm back unable to bear the pain longer. Her stomach rolled as she sat back and her head began spinning. She felt vomit rising in her throat and became suddenly aware of how sweaty the nape of her neck was, one point on her body that was chilled as everything else was warm. Like a corpse, baking in the summer sun.

It was then Akan called her over, and she turned to stare at him blankly. Aldin joked at his expense again. He said he was going to clean her wound. Hadn't she already done that? She moved one knee forward, begining to shuffle in his direction, the colour drained from her face, her pupils dialating. It was then she collapsed onto her face in front of him and the world faded to black to the sound of wolves howling.

When Ceri's eyes fluttered open, the sun had just begun to rise. Her head ached but the pain in her arms was still there, burning sharply. She sat up slowly, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. What had happened? She looked around at her surroundings in the dim light, taking a few moments to realise where she was. It was then the events of the night before came rushing back to her. HAd she passed out?

Looking behing her she saw Akan laying down at an awkward angle, Aldin by his side. Had he been watching over her as she slept? She watched the fae as his chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm. He seemed uninjured from what she could tell, she never had the chance to ask about the blood he had been covered in the day before. His face seemed far more gentle than what it was when he was awake; aggressive and sharp.

She smiled to herself before turning away and shifting over to the river. She drank and drank but still, nothing would satisfy her thirst. She cleaned out the wound on her arm again, the teeth marks already covered in dark, almost black, scabs. She would have Akan check for infection when he woke up. She was in pain, but alive and that was all she could really ask for at the moment. With nothing else to do she sat back and watched the sun rise, giving Akan time to rest.

She didn't know how long she had been staring off into space when she heard Akan clear his throat behind her. She turned and watched as he moved his belogings around before coming over to look at her arm, she held it out for him to examine. She watched in silence as he looked over her arm, before pressing his cold hand against her forehead. His eyes were sharp and focused, like he was reading something she couldn't see. When their eyes met, just for a moment, the Fae's face turned a bright shade of red before he quickly looked away.

Oh. She had thought Aldin had been joking the night before, but now she wasn't so sure. She turned away herself feeling a small smile form at her lips and her cheeks burn just slightly. Before she could ask him anything about the night before, he commented on how quickly the wound was healing. She thought this woud be good news, but the way he said it didn't make it sound that way. Aldin's comments only increased her suspicions that something wasn't right. She wanted to ask for answers, but given that Akan had already tried, she didn't think her asking would make a difference.

'Well, I suppose if you knew the future, telling people everything that was going to happen would be quiet boring,' she laughed. Wanting to steer the conversation away from whatever impending doom she was about to face next she reached out and put her hand on Akan's shoulder, gently as she could. 'Thank you, for last night,' she smiled up at him, cheeks slightly red as she waited a few moments for a reaction. 'You didn't need to wait for me but you did, so thanks.' Her eyes were fixed on his now. Her gratitude was genuine, but that didn't mean she couldn't use this opportunity to figure out what was going on in the boy's head.

The reaction she got was immediate, with Akan looking away, his face quickly turning red. So he did like her? When he brought his eyes back, his response was flustered, unable to find the words he wanted to use. He brushed it off in his typical fashion, saying he had nothing better to do. It was perhaps the lamest excuse she had ever heard, but it was still cute.

She laughed before resonding, 'I'm sorry I was such a burden to you, I must have gotten in the way of all your beauty sleep.' She grinned at him once more before turning away from him to strech her arms  out above her head, hoping to relieve them of some of their soreness.

Teasing the fae was fun, but it would have to wait until later. Gathering her things up, she started walking in the direction of the camp. 'We should get these supplies back and see if there is anything we're needed for at the camp.'

They had spent relatively little time at the camp since they landed,mostly because her and Akan had been out looking for supplies. Perhaps now that they had some weapons, more members of the camp would be willing to explore. Maybe later she would go explore other parts of the forest to get more familiar with the territory. She smiled to herself knowing that Akan would follow, and could already see him trying to explain that it was only because Aldin made him.
